Specimen III Poem | Language of Flowers Art Print
LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS by CIARRA CLAIRE
Floral filled stationery inspired by the Victorian “Language of Flowers,” or Flora Symbolica. In a world where relationships revolved around etiquette and rules, the Victorians created a coded way of communicating through flowers. This allowed people to express themselves, to fall in love and even exact revenge. This line is directly inspired by the original flower meanings found in the floral “dictionaries” of the mid 1800s.
SPECIMEN III
Original Poem by Ciarra Claire
“A special magic happens here
When you find your getaway.
Like a compass always bearing North,
It’s a part of you always.
The air feels clean and crisp here.
The trees are a truer green.
You have so very much to see here,
And also have nowhere to be.
You can plunge into the pristine waters.
You can ski, and boat, and hike.
You can leave behind all weight and care.
While you bathe in the simple life.
There is something special in traveling north,
As you already know.
Once you’ve seen these sparkling shores,
It will always feel like home.”
